Host a New Year's Party the Natural Way

If you’re entertaining on New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day, you know doubt want to show your guests a good time. You’ll likely want to serve indulgent foods and give them cocktails, wine, and other alcoholic beverages to drink. You’ll also want to create a beautifully decorated and relaxing space for your guests to enjoy.

Do you think this means that you can’t also give your guests some option that will help them embrace natural living while in your home? Think again! Here are some strategies that will help you put together a healthier, more natural New Year’s party:

Decorate From Nature



Instead of using store bought decorations, consider taking your inspiration from nature, instead. In fact, if you have access to a wooded area where you can legally and ethically pick your own plants, feel free to head outside and collect what you need. Items such as pinecones, evergreen branches, and holly boughs all make great decorations. If you love decorating with flowers, consider them bouquets from a florist that specializes in organic bouquets.

Choose Candles Wisely



Candles can instantly crate a nice ambiance for any party. If you want to incorporate candles into your party décor, think twice before using paraffin candles, which can release toxins into the atmosphere. Beeswax occurs in nature and doesn’t release toxins when burned.

Serve Organic Alcohol



Sure, you can serve all of the usual cocktails and beverages at your party. However, if you want to create a more natural party, you’ll want to take the extra step to find organic options. Organic liquor isn’t too common, but you can easily find organic choices related to beer, wine, and champagne. Organic wine, in particular, is better for you than regular wine and doesn’t contain harmful chemicals that can make you sick.

Prepare Healthy Foods



When entertaining, people often feel as if they need to serve indulgent foods. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to go overboard. The best food spreads include a mix of healthy and higher fat items. For example, you can certainly serve your popular pizza bites as part of your appetizer lineup, but you may also want to include a platter of vegetable crudités to balance the unhealthier foods out. Try to cook with fresh, organic ingredients whenever possible. This can boost flavor and also makes any dish much healthier.
