Immortal Danger

Hello, and welcome back! Today, we're having one of those dreary spring days, but if the weather guessers are right, tomorrow should be much colder and one of them is even talking about a tiny bit of snow. So much for spring. On the other hand, the bread machine is in bake mode right now and the house smells absolutely delicious right now, and pretty soon, I have to start supper--something with chicken tonight, I think. And I have plenty of good reading material stacked here on the corner of my desk.

This time out, I have the latest from Cynthia Eden, Immortal Danger (Brava). Maya Black used to be a cop in L.A. Now she still does the same job in the same city, but she's a vampire now, not a cop, and the bad guys she's after these days are of the paranormal variety. Her reputation precedes her. Adam Brody has been trying to track Maya down, because he needs her help to rescue his niece from a vampire who's attitude is a lot worse than Maya's when they first meet, and whose motives are a lot less pure. Maya isn't really the charitable sort, however, but Adam persuades her to help him out on this mission. Adam has a few secrets and tricks up his sleeve, though, and Maya knows he's holding out on her, even after the explosive chemistry they share kicks in. But Adam's biggest secret is one he really doesn't want to share, especially after he's started to fall for tough-on-the-outside-soft-on-the-inside Maya. You all know he can't keep the secret forever, though, right? And what woman wouldn't want to keep Adam for herself once she's had him? I didn't really think Maya would send him packing, and you won't be disappointed with her reaction either. This story packs a wallop of incredible sexual tension, with plenty of humorous moments to go along with the action that sends Maya and Adam into some serious danger along the way. I think I can officially say I'm a fan of Ms. Eden's work now, after having enjoyed several previous stories and I really loved this one. I'm borrowing four of Cupid's five arrows for Adam and Maya.

Until next time, happy reading!
