Kombi Jr Lindsey Mitt

The Kombi Jr. Girls Lindsay Mitt has the appearance of a great ski or snowboarding mitt for the youth set. Several features point that designers did some very serious thinking about what the mitt should include. The mitt features a breathable outer shell and rubbery, textured grips for the palm. There is a velcro cinch wrist strap to keep the snow out when being active outdoors. The mitt has a X-loft and foam inner with a soft fleecy accu-dri liner. The mittís care instructions state it can be line dried when they become wet. It comes in cute color combinations including pink plaid, lavender plaid, and black with pink plaid.

Sadly, this mitt did not hold up to the promises made by its appearances. I purchased a pair with my own funds for my daughter. In less than a month, the outer shell had a large tear in it. Within two months, she was complaining of her hands being cold. The complaints started at temperatures around zero degrees F. Where we live, the temperatures get far worse than zero over the course of the winter. It became clear that these mitts were not going to get my daughter through the winter.

Kombi is a company that focuses on making fashionable and high quality gloves and mittens for skiers, freeskiers and snowboarders. Kombiís marketing strategy includes maintaining their own freestyle winter sports team and supplying gloves and mitts to Olympic athletes. The company clearly aims to provide a high quality product for those who are serious about winter.

Kombi has several different styles of gloves and mitts for toddlers through adults. Kombi even has a style that will hold your Ipod. Looking at the market that Kombi aims to please, I am really disappointed in the Lindsay mitt. A higher quality of insulating material s and fabrics should have been used in this mitt. A more durable breathable outer should also be considered.

The suggested MSRP of these mitts is $34.99. I have bought mittens and gloves for $10.00 that are better for keeping hands warm. Cute colors and rubbery grips do not make up for a mitt that just wonít keep you hands warm. My suggestion is that you pass up this mitt and purchase a set of mittens or gloves that will insulate your hands. Kombi needs to reconsider their choice of materials when putting together an otherwise well designed product.
