Horton Hears a Who! Can You? - Interactive Books

Horton Hears a Who! Can You? Plush Board Book is based on Dr. Seuss’ popular hardcover picture book, Horton Hears a Who! The interactive book is a Dr. Seuss Nursery Book published by Random House. The publisher takes the favorite Dr. Seuss book and recreates it as a short activity book for babies(infants), toddlers, nursery and daycare kids. Jan Gerardi illustrates the board book, Horton Hears a Who! Can You?

As one can imagine, the interactive book is a very short version of the original. A ghostwriter weaves the basics of the original story into this version. People, who want the original story, stay away from this format. Remember Dr. Seuss does not write the text. It is for parents and caregivers who want to share a simple nursery book with a child.

For those unfamiliar with
Horton Hears a Who! Can You? Plush Board Book draws the child into Horton’s story by having them hear the Whos like Horton. A Horton puppet comes with the board book to engage them. The hand puppet helps kids interact and focus on the picture book. Juveniles at this age level have very short attention spans. Horton Hears a Who! Can You? Plush Board Book is part of the Dr. Seuss Nursery Collection. Click for the complete online list.

As the infants grow older, use the bright colors to teach them to recognize colors. Ask them what color is Horton? What color is the grass? What color is the flower? Later, count together the number of animals, flowers, trees and so forth on a page. Board book usage in this manner helps stretch funds and expand the child’s knowledge, thus preparing them for reading and mathematics.

Children need a regular routine. A set bedtime and place to sleep are part of the daily routine. Read a bedtime story as part of the nightly ritual. Read quiet, soothing books to children in their warm, comfortable bed. This allows a child to associate reading with comfort and security. The association will continue a lifetime.
