Guiding Light's final goodbye

Fans were shocked when the news surfaced regarding Guiding Light's cancellation. There were rumors that Guiding Light would follow in the footsteps of the NBC Soap, Passions. Due to poor ratings, NBC dropped Passions as a series. Passions later debuted on Direct TV, hoping to keep the fan base, as well as boost ratings. In the months following, Passions was indeed canceled. There was also speculation as to whether Guiding Light would be saved by another network. After failed attempts, its official; Guiding Light’s last air date will be September 18.

Final episodes of Guiding Light are taping this week. Since Guiding Light has a month left, I am wondering what will happen to some of the characters. Here are my best of the best:

Favorite storyline-- Reva's battle with cancer

This was one of Kim Zimmer's greatest performances. Reva's doctor gave her the shocking news that she had breast cancer. Reva has had a long battle, and is still fighting. Kim Zimmer portrayed this story with such passion.

Favorite character-- Jonathan Randall

The bad boy we all love. When Tom Pelphrey joined the cast of Guiding Light, there was a renewed energy. Jonathan came onto the scene as free spirit, much like his mother. He never knew his father Richard, and held resentment against Reva. Through the years they grew closer and are close as a mother and son can be. Tammy was the love of his life, and after her death, Jonathan was a lost soul. Now he is back, to tie up loose ends. What are your favorite moments? Please post your thoughts in the forums.
