Seduce Me

Hello, and welcome back! The thunderstorms have finally moved out of our area, but the humidity isn't staying gone very long, unfortunately. I am so ready for fall to get here. Of course, fall also means the kids are back in school, and work will start to get crazy. But for me, it means no more hot and sticky, which will be a real pleasure.

Before we get to fall, though, I still have some summer romances to share with all of you, starting with the latest from Robyn DeHart, Seduce Me (Grand Central), the first in her 'Legend Hunters' series. Fielding Grey is a treasure hunter. He doesn't do it for love of the hunt; he's more mercenary than that, after watching what his father's love of treasure hunting did to his family fortunes. Now he simply works for the highest bidder, and this time, it's the secretive Solomon's. His father used to be a member of the group, and Fielding has wanted to find out which of them was with his father when he died, to wreak revenge, and working for them to retrieve Pandora's box is the perfect in. He didn't count, however, on having to rescue the scholarly, and very pretty, Esme Worthington from the men working for his uncle, the Raven, a man who is also bent on getting Pandora's box. But his uncle's plans for it aren't as nice as the men of Solomon's. Esme can't resist opening the box, but that leaves her with a gold bracelet as a token of her curse, as it did for the men working for the Raven. Now Fielding has to keep her close in order to find a way to remove the curse before it kills her, all while stopping his uncle's own plans for the box. I've been a fan of DeHart's since her very first book, and this one is a great addition to her body of work. Fielding isn't nearly the rogue he'd like to think, and Esme is terrific, smart and determined in equal measures. Working together is torture for them, even though they do it so well, but the attraction they share is off the charts. This one was a lot of fun, and I can't wait to see the next installment in the series. I'm giving this one four and a half of Cupid's five arrows.

Until next time, happy reading!
