Customizing Your ArtFire Store

We will continue to work on customizing your ArtFire studio to match your company brand. Log into the MyArtFire control panel and go to Edit My Studio.

Studio Banner

Your studio banner is the horizontal image across the top of your store and the most important part of branding your ArtFire storefront. The Basic membership gives you only one size option for the store banner which is 760 x 100 pixels. If you have a Verified membership, you have three sizes to choose from including 796 x 100 and 1000 x 200. The largest banner will cover the entire top of your storefront and does a lot toward branding your studio. Your store avatar will cover the right end of the banner. When designing a store banner for ArtFire, you will want to take this into consideration. Many designers work this limitation into the banner design or at least place the less important design elements in this area.

Widgets

ArtFire has a Tag Cloud widget feature for the Verified members. This tag cloud is generated from the keywords that you set for each product in your store. Like most tag clouds, the size of the tags in the cloud reflect the frequency of the keywords. You have the option of placing this tag cloud in the right column or at the bottom. It appears on the main pages of your store, except for individual product pages. ArtFire also allows you to add your own custom widgets to your shop. Just what a widget is depends on you and they can be text, HTML or Flash.

Custom Gallery

This is a nice feature for those merchants that sell in other shops. You can place photos of products that you sell elsewhere but do not list in your ArtFire store. Also, you can easily, with just one click of a button, add listings of the products that you have sold in your ArtFire store. This “Past Work Gallery” is a way for you to still show older products that are no longer active. These retired or sold listings have a “Request similar item” link that opens an email form for the customer to send you a special request. If the customer clicks on a thumbnail in this gallery, he/she will see the original listing with a “Contact Artisan” button instead of an “Add to Cart” button.

Now that we have discussed the basic elements for your ArtFire storefront that are not product related, we can begin to take a look at the options you have for listing products in your store.
