Tips for Creating a Costume
First, find pictures of the saint your child has chosen.
Go through your closets to see what you might be able to use.
For example lets say your child chose Saint Patrick (see photo to the right). If you have an old blue skirt and a white one, layer them and add gold trim to the blue one. The cape might be a little trickier, but if you have an old green coat, or jacket, you could cut the sleeves off. It won't be a “true” cape, but could work. If you are more creative, you might want to consider buying material and making the costume. Use any cane you have available. You could even glue (or otherwise attach) a snake to it. For his hat, again be creative, look to see what you have and go from there.
