Your Favorite Celebrity’s Workouts

Have you ever wondered how your favorite celebrities have such great bodies? Well in order to look like them then you have to include exercising like them. Doing the research for this article I was amazed at the workouts I discovered. Some of these workouts are done in order to get ready for a major movie role. However the daily exercise can also be very intense. It requires self-discipline and willpower. Many celebrities have trainers to help get them, and keep them in svelte, strong bodies.

Here are pieces of three celebrity workouts, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lawrence, and Beyoncé. Each does strong workouts that the typical person such as you and I would probably not consider reasonable because of the time and money investment. But let’s take a look.

Jennifer Lawrence

You may be most familiar with Jennifer as Katniss from “The Hunger Games”. Jennifer works with celebrity trainer, Dr. Joe Horrigan.
•Her workout is split into 3 timeframes.

Her morning workouts are high intensity and in this case geared toward the role of Katniss. She does agility work or sprints, Monday-Friday.

Her afternoon workouts are specifically geared towards what is the next role she is playing such as archery. She also includes yoga each afternoon to stretch her body and relax her mind.

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings she rides a stationary bike for 30 minutes at high intensity.

Jennifer’s advice is “Challenge yourself, be safe, but don’t be afraid to push yourself.”

Angelina Jolie

Angelina trains with celebrity trainer Gunnar Peterson. She prefers lots of circuit training workouts which vary different muscle groups being used.

•She begins the week with a Monday circuit routine for her Legs, Arms,
and Back & Abs. She uses 5-10 lb. dumbbell weights for most of the exercises.
•On Tuesdays Jolie works her chest, shoulders, arms, and abs. Once again she uses circuit training but focuses on different muscle groups.
•Wednesdays she uses a circuit that focuses on total body and core.
•Thursday the circuit is based on exercises for legs, arms, back and abs, like Monday
•Friday is another circuit based on chest, shoulders, arms, and abs-like Tuesday
•Each day after the circuit training she adds 30-45 minutes of Cardio such as walking, elliptical, stair machine, or any aerobic activity she enjoys.
•Special exercise includes kickboxing, martial arts training, and lots of yoga.

Angelina’s advice is “getting in shape leads to an overall sense of happiness, and always trust your instincts.”

Beyoncé

Beyoncé sticks to a standard format of total body circuit and cardio Monday-Friday. She works with trainer Marco Borges. He has Beyoncé focus on power moves.

•The total body circuit changes everyday emphasizing different body parts and muscle groups.
•Each circuit contains between 10-12 different exercises with 12-15 reps of each. The circuit is repeated 3-4 times.
•She finishes her workout with 30-45 minutes on the treadmill doing sprint intervals.
•Beyoncé does Pilates and yoga for an hour on days she is performing.

Beyoncé says her goal is “I want to live long enough to watch my grandchildren walk down the aisle. I have to be in top physical health now and keep it up for a lifetime to do that. That’s at least another 50 years."

Some Common Ground:

• Each of these women do a lot of cardio.
• They work out every day, Monday-Friday.
• Circuit training is a major part of their training.
• Each practices yoga.

You may not be ready to keep up with the celebrity workouts but hopefully they motivated you and will get you moving. You can develop your own circuit training with exercises you know and within the time you have. I highly recommend doing some yoga in the evening to relax and rest comfortably.

Always check with a medical professional before starting any exercise routine. Be healthy, be happy!
