Adobe Certification

I received an email today asking help with preparing for Adobe Certification. Essentially, this person wanted to know where to start and what was involved in becoming certifed for Adobe Flash. The place to start when looking for information is Adobe Certified (see link below). There are several types of certifications available.

Adobe Certified Expert (ACE)

Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) is a product-specific professional expert certification specializing in one of the many Adobe products. As you would expect, the first step is to choose your software. Adobe offers single product certification exams for Photoshop CS3 and CS4, Flash CS3 and CS4, InDesign CS3 and CS4, Illustrator CS3 and CS4, After Effects CS3 and CS4, Dreamweaver CS3 and CS4, RoboHelp 7, Captivate 3, Photoshop Lightroom, ColdFusion 8, Acrobat 9 Professional, Flash Lite 2.0 Mobile, Flex 3, FrameMaker 8 and Premiere Pro CS3.

The impact that Adobe certification may have on your career can vary greatly. It's best to evaluate your personal situation to determine if this path is right for you. Also, be advised that the certification becomes invalid 90 days after a new exam is published. As we all know, Adobe releases new versions of their software on a regular basis and recertification will be necessary to remain current.
