Homemade Pop Tart Recipes




Any time you can make homemade treats you avoid preservatives and unknown ingredients. This also allows you to make your desserts as healthy as you like. These homemade pop tarts are a great snack and are fun to make.

Chocolate & Cinnamon Pop Tart Recipe
Makes 8 pop tarts

Ingredients:

Store bought pie dough (or make your own)
1/2 cup chocolate chips
3 tablespoons cinnamon
3 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons melted butter
1 egg for an egg wash
Glaze:
1 cup confectioner’s sugar
1/2 tablespoon vanilla
2 tablespoons milk

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. Cut the dough into 16 squares or rectangles.
3. Brush some egg on the edges of 8 sections of dough.
4. Divide the filling between the sections of dough with the egg wash.
5. Top each with the remaining dough.
6. Pinch the edges to seal the dough.
7. Place on a greased cookie sheet.
8. Bake for about 25 minutes or until browned on the edges.
9. Allow them to cool.
10. In a small bowl combine the confectioner’s sugar, vanilla, and milk.
11. Stir until smooth.
12. Spread the glaze over each pop tart.


Blueberry Pop Tart with White Chocolate Glaze Recipe
Makes 8 pop tarts

Ingredients:

Store bought pie dough
8 tablespoons blueberry jam or preserves
1 egg for an egg wash
Glaze:
1/2cup white chocolate chips
3 tablespoons heavy cream
3/4 cup powdered sugar

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. Cut the dough into 16 squares or rectangles.
3. Brush some egg wash on the edges of 8 sections of dough.
4. Spoon 1 tablespoon of jam on each section of dough with the egg wash.
5. Top each with the remaining dough.
6. Pinch the edges to seal the dough.
7. Place on a greased cookie sheet.
8. Bake for about 25 minutes or until browned on the edges.
9. Allow them to cool.
10. In a double boiler heat the cream and white chocolate.
11. Stir in the confectioner’s sugar.
12. Stir until smooth.
13. Spread the glaze over each pop tart.
