Yolanda Adams, Ledisi, Donald Lawrence and others are set to perform at BET’s tenth anniversary of Celebration of Gospel program. Steve Harvey, actor and comedian has been tapped to host the event again something he has done since it's inception. The event will be taped at the famed Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles on Saturday, December 12 and will air on Sunday, January 10, 2010.
Other artists set to perform are; Fantasia and her mother Diane Barrino Barber, Anthony Hamilton and his wife Tarsha Hamilton, GRAMMY™ award winners BeBe and CeCe Winans, Fred Hammond, Kelly Price and Sherri Shepherd, along with gospel superstars Donnie McClurkin, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Marvin Sapp, James Fortune & FIYA, Tye Tribbett & Greater Anointing, Dr. Bobby Jones and the Nashville Super Choir, SUNDAY BEST winner Y’Anna Crawley, The Rance Allen Group, and The City of Refuge P.S.A.L.M.S. Choir.
Celebration was rated the number one gospel program on television for 2007 and with performances by Yolanda Adams, Donald Lawrence, Fantasia and others the show should rate well again when it airs. “We couldn’t have come up with a larger level of talent or a bigger occasion than this night,” says Stephen Hill, Executive Vice President of Entertainment and Music Programming at BET in an article here at Bellaonline earlier.
This is one of the shows that BET provides where the entire family can sit down and watch it together. Hopefully they will bring more shows like this one to the network for all to enjoy.
Celebration of Gospel will be once again produced by Stephen Hill, President of Music Programming & Specials. It will also be produced by BET; Lynne Harris Taylor, Vice President of Specials, BET; and Geovanni Brewer, Executive Producer.
