So in closing out my year, I will tell my favorite holiday stories. A bride wanted a great Holiday wedding. She had panned and dreamed; everything was falling into place. We had booked flowers, dresses everything right down to the hall. The economy did not work in their favor. We pulled it together though, festive red tablecloths, decorated with nutcrackers, snowflakes and poinsettias. The budget was as low as we could go. We used the smaller banquet room I have at my restaurant. It was a happy wedding for all.
The decorations you see here; were all purchased from the dollar store. We used the equipment we have for catering, a few bits and pieces that we borrowed from other areas of the restaurant, some great menu design from my head chef. We all pulled together. We found a great dress at a consignment store; the tuxedo rental place (I will not use names, but they were amazing) gave the wedding party their tuxedos for free. It was a giving time for most.
The one thing I did realize though was that while some of us were in the giving mood, a few others that I usually do business with were not. It made me take a deeper look at a lot of my relationships with vendors. Not all, just a couple. Some would not give deposits back, even though they had not ordered product for the wedding yet.
I guess really what I am saying is a wedding is what your heart puts into it. How much you really desire something. The amount of money is irrelevant. I work with large budgets as well as small ones. Each one gets my personal attention to detail.
