How To Use Stixyboards

Let’s take a look at how we can use Stixyboards (Stixy.com) to collaborate with your clients.

The building blocks of your Stixyboards are the widgets. There are widgets for adding image/photos (max 4 MB), documents (max 50 MB) such as PDFs, “sticky” notes and to-do lists that you can drag onto the board and type into directly. For your design business, you can upload jpg previews of graphics and animated gifs.

Once you create a Stixyboard, you can invite people to collaborate with you on the board. Each person that you invite has the same access as you and can create, edit and delete the widgets on that Stixyboard. This is great when you’re working with other designers on a project.

On the other hand, your clients only need the ability to leave feedback. Therefore, the Guest feature is perfect for clients and others that do not need to manipulate the Stixyboard. Even though guests can not manipulate the widgets, they can click on the thumbnails to view the proofs. You can also post a note giving instructions or information and include an email link in the note to make it easy for your clients to immediately send feedback directly from the Stixyboard.

Finally, you can set the access to your Stixyboard to public and the whole world can view, add to and make changes to that Stixyboard.

Each user (account) can create as many Stixyboards as you wish, giving each a title, tags and description. Once you have several Stixyboards, you can use the tag feature to sort through them as needed. You can customize your user information as to your time zone, preferred date and time format, your personal image and description. For convenience, each user can create a contact list of email addresses. When you create a new Stixyboard, you will use this list to send invitations to the contacts that you wish to have access to that Stixyboard.

Stixy is currently testing their new calendar application. With this online calendar, you can schedule events and due dates, set email reminders and access your calendar from other applications that support the iCal format.
