The Texas Billionaire's Baby

Hello, and welcome back! It's quite ugly outside here today, grey and rainy, and it isn't supposed to improve until Wednesday. I guess that means I have plenty of time to dig into the fabulous April books sitting here on the corner of my desk right now. I've been dying to get to them, but had to finish the March books first, amid plenty of writing of my own.

I still have a few of the March romances to share with you before I can post April reviews, though, starting with Karen Rose Smith's The Texas Billionaire's Baby (Silhouette Special Edition, received galley from author). Gina Rigoletti has come home to Lubbock, Texas after many years away, first for college, then for her career. Now her business has brought her to Logan Burnes, her first love. His son Daniel needs a bit of therapy of the variety that Gina's office provides, though she doesn't intend to be the therapist who deals with Logan. She just wants to get her evaluation done, maybe find out if he can ever forgive her for their past, and get out. Logan, however, doesn't have all the details yet from their break-up and all the things that have happened since, and he's still dealing with the death of his wife and trying to raise his young son with only the help of a housekeeper/nanny. He definitely isn't interested in starting a new relationship with Gina when she broke his heart. Except Gina is different now than when they were young and in love, more cautious and reserved. And Logan wants to know why. As the details of their years apart, and even the cause of their break-up come out, Logan has to rethink a lot of things. But can they really make a relationship work now when they're so different? With this one, readers get some brief visits with characters from previous books in the 'Baby Experts' series, as well as plenty of heart-tugging conflict and emotion. I like Gina a lot, though I did find it a little hard to believe that with a close family like hers she wouldn't have shared her past with them before now. Logan's son Daniel is adorable, and even if she could resist his father, Gina certainly can't help but fall in love with the baby. Logan just has to make up his mind to let go of the past. This one's earned three and a half of Cupid's five arrows. It's a really good read. Look on Amazon.com for The Texas Billionaire's Baby (Silhouette Special Edition)
