Advertising may have come a long way since the advent of the internet but there are still some offline methods sure to bring traffic to your blog and social media pages. Donít rely on the internet and SEO alone. Reach more of your market using offline methods of advertising.
A little research will help you find new advertising outlets. Search online for media kits related to your niche. Consider print advertising in journals, magazines and local publications. If they offer web advertising, try a combination of both to reinforce your presence to their market.
Test out direct mail. Many media kits specify card decks or sell marketing lists as a way to reach their subscribers. Purchase a direct mail list for your own direct mail campaign of a brochure or post card mailer or advertise in a card deck (usually a 3Ē x 5Ē ad that they mail directly to their subscribers). If your advertising budget is small, donít fret. Many organizations selling advertising and direct mail services may negotiate a price or reconsider their minimum order requirements. Donít be afraid to ask for a lower price or for a discount if you run a multiple advertisements.
Get a booth or sponsor handouts at trade shows, fairs, festivals, parades and other local events. Find out about opportunities where you live or vacation by visiting local travel bureaus. In addition to a brochure, business card or discount coupons, hand out fun personalized products advertising your blog address. How creative you are is up to you. It can be as simple as personalized pens, mouse pads or water bottles; or something niche specific to the event you are sponsoring. There are companies offering all kinds of personalized items for every interest. If you canít find what you want, ask for it.
If your market appeals to your demographic (where you live), advertise in school publications. Parent and teacher organizations, school activity groups and little leagues are always looking for funding and offer reasonable ad space in directories and event publications. Advertise on your community's cable access channel as well.
Network with your local business association and make contacts the old-fashioned way, face to face. Find partners with similar interests or who reach the same market as you and find ways to help each other get the word out about your businesses.
Go the extra mile and place advertising on your car. Magnetic advertising or car magnets are available at affordable prices. Other common advertising for a vehicle include car window stickers (vinyl lettering decals or car window decals) and custom license plate frames.
