Connecting Daily With The Tarot

How often do you look at your cards? Only when you are seeking guidance to a specific question? Perhaps only when you feel lost, stuck or otherwise struggling? If your answer is yes, you may not be getting all you can out of your deck.

Tarot is a great tool for personal reflection and analysis. When used regularly, it will help you learn more about yourself. It's been said that the key to mastering life is to know oneself. Choosing a card everyday while focusing only on the Mantra "Please show me wisdom that is for my highest good today", will help you not only to pause and reflect, but to better learn the meanings of your cards.

People often approach Tarot as a source of easy answers in a crisis, only to find out the answers don't come easy or that they feel more confused than before. The reason this happens is because no personal work or intuitive exercises are being done otherwise. It's those intuitive insights and wisdom we gain through Tarot meditation, journaling and reflection that allow us to discover the true wisdom and meaning in the cards when we seek them for guidance with specific concerns.

If you aren't using your cards regularly, try pulling a card each morning and take a couple of minutes to reflect on the wisdom of that card and how it pertains to your life today. Tarot imagery is loaded with bits of wisdom and knowledge, it's a matter of learning how to internalize these concepts that determines the value of the Tarot.

Tarot is not simply a fortune telling or divination tool, and when used with those notions or with the desire for "easy answers", it can rob you of true opportunities for growth. Approaching Tarot, or any other tool, with a mindset that embraces personal growth will enrich your life experience, giving you a deeper sense of connection with your higher self and inner wisdom.

Using Tarot to solve your problems for you simply doesn't work. Unfortunately, many have the mindset that Tarot will give easy answers, tell them what is going to happen to them and when, and it doesn't work that way. Free will and choice are the tools we all hold that determine our destiny. Everything else is what you make of it. Tarot is a tool to see the general direction things are flowing, to lend insight into things that may be holding you back and to highlight things that you are doing well. It doesn't tell you your future as your destiny is always dependent on your choices.
