Syndicate Your Blog through NetworkedBlogs

NetworkedBlogs is not a blog directory so much as a way to syndicate your blog to others and also allow you to broadcast your blog posts quickly via your social networks in Facebook and Twitter. We all love traffic and if the traffic isn’t coming directly to you through search engine traffic (Google, Bing etc.), syndication tools can help.

Like a blog directory, NetworkedBlogs allows you to follow blogs or syndicated websites that interest you. Along with your own blogs you can syndicate liked blogs to your Facebook pages and Twitter accounts when they publish content.

Register New Blogs

NetworkedBlogs is easy to use. There is a Dashboard to register new blogs. You can register your own or the blog site of others if you were unable to find another’s site via their directory search tool. If you want to prove ownership of your own blog, you need to add html code to your site and verify it on your account at NetworkedBlogs. You can test the feed to ensure that NetworkedBlogs can pick up your most recent posts. There is also a way to test publish to your social networks.

Syndicate Blogs

The Syndication tool at NetworkedBlogs allows you to choose the blog you want to syndicate from a drop down menu. The blog (your blog, or another’s blog) should already have been added to your Dashboard as your own blog or one that you are following.

Then you choose where you would like to publish the blogs posts to, Facebook or Twitter. You can pick a Facebook personal page or fan pages. Post feeds can be syndicated to as many Facebook and Twitter accounts that you have allowed NetworkedBlogs to access on your account. You are asked to log in and give access to NetworkedBlogs via the app that talks to Facebook or Twitter. To remove NetworkedBlogs access you can always visit Facebook and Twitter and do so in the security settings.

Pros and Cons

Whether you want people to have access to share your blog via syndication or a quick tool to publish to the two biggest social networking accounts on the web, NetworkedBlogs fits the bill. Syndication via NetworkedBlogs helps you immediately share to your social networks.

The only downside is visitors come to your site in an iframe clearly denoting they are visiting you via NetworkedBlogs (note the toolbar on top of the screen). Some feel this branding is akin to NetworkedBlogs stealing your traffic.

A premium account at NetworkedBlogs removes their branding when traffic reaches your site and gives you additional features (fast feed updates, custom cover images, custom blog thumbnail images, and premium features to upgrade your Facebook Pages as well).
