From Doctor...to Daddy

Hello, and welcome back! It finally feels like fall here, which makes me happier than I can possibly express after the horrid summer we've had in our area. I don't even mind the rain that's heading our way for the first half of the week, as the grass in our yard is crunchy and brown right now. Plus my herbs and flowers could use a bit of a drink, so I won't mind if it rains all week. At least, not for one week, anyhow.

This time out, I have the latest from Karen Rose Smith, From Doctor....to Daddy (Silhouette Special Edition, received from author). This time out, Dr. Dillon Traub has taken on the staff doctor position at the Thunder Canyon Resort. He's been attracted his receptionist Erika Rodriguez ever since his arrival, though she's been nothing but professional, no matter how much he might like to be unprofessional in their off-hours. But Dillon has a painful past that he doesn't really want to repeat, and he is only working at the resort for a short time. So getting involved in any relationship should be out of the question. And Erika has responsibilities of her own that she won't easily share with anyone else, and especially not with a man who isn't staying around. Nevertheless, both find themselves taking a chance, their emotions entangling far more than should be allowed for a temporary relationship. But can either really let go of the past? The longer Dillon's around, the more he finds himself involved with the locals in addition to his growing ties to Erika's family and her young daughter. And Erika really can't resist the pull of her heart, despite the need to protect that same heart from the same sort of hurt she suffered in the past. Ms. Smith is a real pro at putting together characters you might meet on the street or at any local office, people whose lives and emotions you can believe in, and whose stories make you feel terrific by the time you've finished reading them. This one's earned three and a half of Cupid's four arrows.

Until next time, happy reading!
