Additional Gift Ideas for Flower Lovers

There are many types of items suitable as holiday gifts for flower lovers. Items include everything from flower stationery to cutting garden tools and seeds.

Those with cutting gardens would love to receive Renee’s Garden seeds. These are available online at Renee’s website and at independent garden centers, and garden gift shops around the country. All of these seed packs are decorated with gorgeous water colors. There are complete instructions on how to grow each variety.

Make up a gift basket and include various floral design tools and supplies along with a wide assortment of Renee’s cutting garden varieties. For both fresh cut flowers and everlastings, there’s no better gift than Nigella (love-in-a-mist) seeds. Renee’s offers numerous varieties of this long-time, easy to grow cutting garden/everlasting plant.

Renee’s offers seeds of many kinds of sunflowers suitable for cutting. For cutting gardens, they also have many kinds of zinnias, sweet peas, and poppies suitable for cut flowers. One of Renee’s new 2010 varieties was Double Cosmos Rose Bon Bon.

For floral designers with cutting/everlasting gardens, various kinds of gardening aids make wonderful gifts. One of the best brands around is OXO. Their products are available at leading retailers around the country. They have beautifully designed, durable watering cans available in a variety of sizes and delectable colors.

The OXO pruners are a very good choice for those with cutting gardens. OXO offers several different kinds that would be very useful when harvesting cut flowers from woody plants, such as lilacs and hydrangeas.

Galison has introduced several new designs that will have special appeal for flower lovers. These include Seasons in Bloom. This depicts all sorts of flowers by Konan Tanigami, a renowned Japanese artist. Seasons in Bloom is available in a number of products, including a lovely Perpetual Calendar, which measures 5 ½ by 11 inches. For each month, this calendar has a lovely flower portrait and space for recording birthdays, anniversaries, and other important dates to remember. This looks lovely when displayed on a wall or memo board. It has a spiral binding with a loop for hanging.

The Seasons in Bloom Keepsake Box of notecards features four beautiful flower designs. There are a total of 16 cards (four of each design) and 17 colored enveloped. With a magnetic lid, this gorgeous, sturdy, reusable box will have many uses in the home and office.

Other new Galison products of interest to flower lovers are the new Rosehip Mini Sticky Notes. The set features a total of 300 notes with 60 of each of the five designs. This comes in a decorated, durable portfolio. The notes come in two assorted sizes.

The Rosehip Mini Sticky Notes are especially appealing to flower lovers. They feature songbirds amidst tendrils of flowering vines. This design is by Silkie Lloyd, a renowned British designer. The splendid Rosehip design is also available as pencil holders as well as the Flip Top Notecard set. The 12 trifold cards of one design come in a wonderful hinged, flip top, reusable box. The set includes 13 colored envelopes.

I also especially recommend Galison’s new Books of Labels. Each set has eight different images in two sizes. These come in a lovely decorated portfolio. Several Books of Labels designs will be of interest to flower lovers. These include Rosehip, Folk Floral, and the gorgeous William Morris Rose.
Galison’s new Folk Floral design is also new for fall. This features whimsical tulips and daisy-like blooms in assorted colors on a deep red background. Folk Floral is available in many formats, including Books of Labels, Thank You notecards, Weekly Planner, Flip Top Cards, Tin Coaster, and Mini Sticky Notes.

For disclosure purposes, I received samples of products from Galison for review purposes.
