Hi ladies. Just going through a few items here. I am trying to get it all together for you in one place. There are always those things that are on top of your lists, yet they tend to get forgotten.
Here is just a quick checklist and a few helpful hints. Most you have probably thought of, some well lets see.
Changing your name. Yes you have planned and planned, and your day is here. Yet where do you turn to change your name? All areas have different rules and regulations, so please check your area.. You can buy a change your name kit online, if you want to go that route. A few items to change that you need to think of, Social Security Card, Drivers license, work (business cards etc.) credit cards, insurance, utility bills. These items are the most important. The items of least importance are magazine subscriptions, book clubs, library cards, gym memberships,. These items you can do at your leisure.
Next, well really actually first......Marriage license. Please, please, please, check your states rules and regulations for getting a marriage license. Even in Vegas you need a license. Most wedding licenses are good for a period of one year. The average cost is about sixty dollars. Usually the issuers require both bride and groom to be present during the application process. Some states or counties require blood tests. So please really do our research. Apply for your license about a month before the wedding, that way you can avoid any issues.
Book your travel arrangements. Make sure your hotels are booked, your tickets if you are traveling, transportation etc. Check into luggage requirements, if you are traveling abroad make sure your papers are in order. Check into all needed vaccine requirements. One of the most important things is to make sure you book all tickets and accommodations in your maiden name, this way there are no issues with identification. Everything will match.
Well I hope these few items jog your memory just a little. Some ties even the greatest created plans get sideswiped. Remember it is always easier to make lists, as well as double check items so you don't end up with any surprises. This is Sandra Sable signing off for now. Until next time lets talk weddings.
