Will I Find Love Again?

You are loveable! The proof is that you have already been loved. Someone thought that you were wonderful enough to marry. You were the right blend of successful, sweet, romantic, beautiful, charming, responsible or any number of the myriad traits that are valuable in relationships. If you've been loved once, you can be loved again - if you want to be.

Not everyone chooses to move past their dissolved marriage and explore love again. You may or may not want to date someone new. If you aren't ready to move on or aren't sure that you want to, don't feel obligated to. You won't be happy with yourself if you aren't true to your inner feelings and goals. It isn't worth trying to rush love. If you aren't ready and try again anyway, you might hurt someone else and you will almost definitely hurt yourself.

If you feel hurt because someone you love left, you especially need to take your time to be sure that you are ready to move on. It may be easy to find someone new but it isn't easy to be sure whether you are ready to take on another relationship.

No matter why your marriage has ended (or is ending), there are definitely areas for personal growth that you can identify from your experiences. Divorce is rarely one-sided; there are usually disappointments and pain on both sides of the marriage aisle and if they're enough to end the relationship, you'll need to consider what drew you to the spouse that things didn't work out with and how much validity either side's complaints have.

If you're still thinking of your significant other nonstop, you aren't ready to move on with someone new. If you have yet to address the issues that you divorced over, you aren't ready. If you've taken the time to mourn your relationship and its potential and you're no longer in love with the person you once wanted to spend your life with, you might be ready to date again. Once you know that you are ready to find love again, you can confidently begin to date, knowing that you will find that special person that you are meant to share your life with.
