Altered Altoid Tin

I just finished working on another altered altoid brooch. This one is for my friend, Bekka. She always sends me packages with pretty things she's made, so this little trinket is for her.

NICE, right? The paper is from The Sampler Kit at Scrapbooking Supplies R Us. The moon shape is actually a pair of earrings that I never wore, but saved thinking of how lovely they would look on altered art.

This project is a good example of why I:

a. Never throw things away

and

b. love rubber stamping

Now at first, the paper was yellow. I love it, but I wanted to add more to it, somehow.

So I took my blue ink pad, rubbed it on the paper, and then with my "celebrate" typewriter font stamp (by stampin up, now retired. but really you could use any typewriter font stamp).

The nice thing is that you can still see the yellow in the paper. And this really is a nice project.

Rubber stamps can really add a fun and interesting "pop" to any project.
When creating a project, it's always a good idea to think of how you can make your own backgrounds with rubber stamping.
Rubber stamps are a great tool for creating fun backgrounds, and even making your own embellishments.

Then for the inside:

I love the inside, don't you? The letters are by Thickers, and are also included in the Sampler kit. The bird there, is because she goes by the name of "Bekka Bluebird" and so I thought that this image (by Alphastamps) was fitting.

So, that's that!

Want to make one with me, or learn to make one yourself?
I'm going to be giving a demo on how to make these lovely brooch pins on the online show which you can find details to, on my website.
