The really nice thing about making up a wine list for friends and family to use as a Christmas shopping guideline is that you already know what is on the list, but you don't know which one you'll get.
I had over 20 bottles on my wish list. I gave the list out to 9 people. Some of the wines were higher priced at $35 and $40 and others were under $10. My neice is out of work and I wanted something on the list that was attainable for her.
One of the wines on the list was an Italian - the 2006 La Carraia. When I added it to the list, it was $8.49. Looking for wines that I wanted to bring home for New Years, I noticed that the wine price had jumped up to $9.99 but was on sale for $8.50.
I think I mentioned to people on my list, that I wanted the prices be left on the bottle so when I wrote about the wine, I could give the price to my readers. There was no price on the bottle I got, but I am sure that the price was between $8.50 and $10.00.
I call this wine the bunny wine since there is a picture of what looks like a rabbit on the label. The label is new compared to the label when I had it the last time. The last time I had the 2004 La Carraia the rabbit was clearly a rabbit. You can see a picture of the

Sangiovese 2006 IGT
13% Alc by vol
This wine is one of my favorites. Mostly I like the fact that it is Sangiovese, and I have always been a little partial to this grape. It has a deep purple color with a hint of dark red when you pour it into the glass.
There is not a heavy oak smell or taste to this wine. It has a rich berry flavor that is very smooth and drinkable.
I am amazed I can actually taste cherries and maybe some spice or maybe it is pepper. Hard to tell what the flavors are exactly as I am still working at getting tastes down with different wines.
A picture of the label for the 2006 La Carraia shows the difference in the bunny picture.
Several people were interested in the Cava Brut I mentioned in a previous article but were not able to find it. You can find it here:

I sincerely hope that you are doing O.K. and that things in your neck of the woods are alright.
