In a somewhat worrisome turn of events for red-hot Stacy Keibler who, while still under WWE contract until July, has "gone Hollywood", Access Hollywood is reporting that she was rushed to the hospital after experiencing a "minor seizure" at the ABC Upfronts - the fall schedule presentation to advertisers.
She was hospitalized this past Tuesday and was released in good health with no restrictions.
According to her "rep" she is doing fine and will be making appearances and going about life as usual.
However, speaking from experience, as I have a son who once had a seizure disorder, NO seizure is minor. They don't happen for no reason and they don't often come once and go away unless whatever caused them is something easily correctible.
Unless there is a specific treatable cause pinpointed for this seizure - which could be anything from an eating disorder or other metabolic imbalance, some sort of brain problem, medication related, or a host of other things - Stacy may not be in the perfect health that her representatives want people to believe.
I am not saying she is gravely ill by any means. I am just saying that once someone has a seizure (and I honestly don't know what a minor one would be. Grand mals are not minor even if their duration is short and other types of seizures are rarely experienced outside of a seizure disorder or epilepsy which is not the case with Stacy), the cause should be determined and steps taken to prevent further ones.
Obviously, the article didn't detail her medical records other than to say doctors ran tests and released her in "good health," according to a statement from Stacy's representative.
I certainly hope that is true, the cause treated, and this is a one time thing. Stacy is at the pinnacle of a promising career and a health problem would really set her back.
Naturally if more is found out, I will pass it along.
Here is the link to the Access Hollywood story: Stacy Keibler Suffers Seizure. Take a look at her arms in the pic. Twigs. I think she should eat regardless of whether the seizure was brought on by not eating enough and messing up her electrolytes and metabolism.
She lost 20 pounds over the course of the time she was on Dancing with the Stars where she placed third and was propelled to starlet rather than wrestling diva. At the end of the show she commented that she was the incredible shrinking woman and, indeed, she was rail, stick thin then. I hope she is eating better and caring for her heath and not falling into the thinner is better mentality that many celebrities seem to have fallen into of late.
I will be back with more soon.
