Sweet or Steamy?

Hello, and welcome back! I hope you're all staying toasty warm. Our weather here in the mid-Atlantic/northeast is downright frigid, and going outside isn't something I want to do just because these days. Luckily, I still have a fair number of review books sitting here on a shrinking (at this moment, anyway) stack.

Some romance fans are very adamant about the sort of romances they enjoy--no sex at all, steamy all the way--and others aren't as particular. This week, we have one sweet and one steamy, so we've got something for everyone. First up is Jacqueline Navin's The Bliss (Jove), with Leah Brodie agreeing to be seen courting with Morgan Gage to improve his reputation--tarnished when his father was murdered and he was accused of the crime. Leah's no conventional miss, and Morgan's kisses are too delicious for her to resist--leading to far more than simple kisses. Too bad they hadn't planned on this pretense developing into a real relationship. She's none too pleased when he insists they wed for her safety either. Two more stubborn people it would be difficult to find. It would also be hard to find a hero and heroine you'd want to cheer for. Of Cupid's five arrows, I'm borrowing four for this one. A very pleasant way to while away a chilly evening.

The second book I have to share with you this week is a debut from Shirley Jump, The Virgin's Proposal (Silhouette Romance) (Silhouette Romance). Katie Dole didn't intend to become entangled emotionally with Matt Webster--she only wanted to show her ex-fiance she was over him. Matt sure didn't plan to get involved with anyone in his small hometown. He's only come back to heal old wounds. This is a really fast-paced story--very fast-paced. It almost felt as if I didn't have enough time to get to know everyone I needed to know, but Matt's to-die-for, and Katie's a spunky heroine. It was a fun read, and I'm giving it four also.

Be sure to stop in the forum to join in all the discussions there. Until next time, happy reading!
