Vellum can be used for many different creative things!

Use it for:

matting photos
framing photos
making journaling boxes
printing poems on for extra special journaling
layering over a photo with a section cut out to highlight that part of the photo

You can run vellum through your printer. The ink will take a little more time to dry on vellum because it is not as porous as other papers tend to be. Be very careful that the ink is dry before you pick the vellum up to adhere it to your page.

Use vellum to make:

waterfalls
bubbles
stars
a moon
stained glass windows
waves in the ocean- I like to make waves by tearing the vellum. Torn vellum has a very nice look.

Use different techniques on vellum. Try paper tearing, chalking, and layering the vellum.

Some special care needs to be taken when adhering vellum to your project. Because of vellums see through quality the glue is easily seen as well. If the vellum is a quote or something that is going to be completely seen. Try to use a glue pen along the words so that the glue spot is not seen through the vellum.

There is a special vellum adhesive sold that is supposidely not seen through the vellum. I have tried a couple of brands of these but haven't had a whole lot of luck myself.

My tried and true way of attatching vellum is by using a brad, eyelet or another type of fastner such as a paper clip to adhere the vellum to the project. This isn't always possible though so sometimes I use spray adhesive. Spray adhesive really works well, however, it also leaves a sticky residue. I try to spray over the top of my trashcan in order to corral the sticky. There is nothing worse than a sticky work surface with all of your paper and embellishments sticking to the table each time you set them down.

Another way that I have attatched vellum is punching two holes and then lacing ribbon or fiber through the whole and tieing a knot or bow. I have even bought cards that use this technique to attatch vellum.
