|We used to be a house covered with wires. There were cables from our PCs to our computers. Cables from our controllers to our game units. And worst of all, long cables through the house connecting our PS2 and XBox to our cable modem.|
We were unsure of how well the Linksys wireless router would hold up against on line gameplay. Sure, it was fine for surfing the web from a laptop on the back porch. But on line game play involved much more important reaction time and screen drawing.
We were amazingly impressed right from the beginning. The Linksys wireless receiver remote unit is about the size of a pack of playing cards and plugs easily into both the XBox and PS2 units. In our setup, the remote unit is a full 2 rooms away from the base. But we saw blazingly fast gameplay in every situation. We went on for football, motorcycle racing, arcade style games and more. The controls were fast and sure.
It's so much nicer to have everything wireless. You go whereever you want to with the wireless controllers, people can get up or move through the room without causing trouble. You can hand controllers to others without an issue. There are no cables to trip over and cleanup is a breeze. Just make sure you RESEARCH what you buy, because buying a low-response wireless item can be far, far more frustrating than cables ever could be.
The Linksys system is highly recommended for any gamer!
NOTE: The PS2 network adaptor does NOT HAVE A USB CONNECTOR!! So do not get a wireless receiver that works with USB. You need a wireless receiver that has a standard NETWORK JACK in it, to connect between it and the PS2's network adaptor.
