Iīm a HUGE fan of driving games - Iīve always driven Mustangs in real life and have driven many others during my driving years. I had one of the PlayStation steering wheel/pedal combos for my Playstation games - it was huge and heavy, and had to sit solidly on a table. Even so, because obviously it wasnīt attached to anything firmly, it didnīt always work very well when you were trying to do special moves.
The Gamester controller is much smaller and very lightweight. Itīs barely the width of the normal X-box controller, and has two curved shapes connected by an X in the middle. Sort of like (x). When you look at it in the package you think that perhaps itīs got some sort of motion sensor gyroscope-thing inside it that senses the movement. But itīs really more simple than that. The right side is stationary, and the left side is on a hinge that lets it move up and down around that central point in the middle of the X.
So really, when you steer, your right hand stays stationary. Your left hand does the "turning" just like a real wheel, and you have precise control over those turns because your right hand is holding it steady. It works incredibly well, and because your right hand is stationary, it easily controls the other buttons that are on the top of that side. The triggers beneath are also easy to get to.
I was originally thinking that this controller wouldnīt work well, because it was so small and only went for $30 or so compared to the much-higher-pricetag on previous steering wheels Iīd bought. Iīm extremely pleasantly surprised by how well this works, especially in Project Gotham Racing, and highly recommend this to any fans of driving games :)
