Step 4. Paint the Holly Branches. You now want to paint several diagonal lines of Holly Branches. You will use the Picture Tube Tool to do this. Click on the Picture Tube icon and set the Tool Options palette to the following values. Picture Tube: Holly Branches Scale: 100 Step: 200 Placement mode: Continuous Selection mode: Incremental Now hold down the mouse button while you draw several diagonal lines across the card. You may find it easier to start by drawing a diagonal line from the lower left corner to the upper right corner. Then use this line as a guide to draw the other lines. (see Figure 3)
Step 5. Draw the lines of Holly Berries. Repeat the last step using the Holly Berries Picture Tube. Step 6. Cut out the oval for your photo. You will use the Selection tool. Click on the icon for the Selection tool and set the Tool Options palette to the following. Selection Tools Selection type: Ellipse Mode: Replace Feather: 0 Anti-alias: Checked Place your mouse pointer at the center of the card. Click and drag to draw an oval onto the center of the card. When you release the mouse button you will see small dashes marching around the oval. Now click Edit > Cut from the Menubar and the oval will disappear leaving a transparent area for your photo. Go back to the Menubar and click Selections > Select None. (see Figure 3) Step 7. Draw the green ring around the transparent oval. You will now outline the transparent oval with a green weave-patterned ring. You will use the ellipse preset shape to draw the ring. In the example I drew a green colored (#008000) ring but you can use any color you prefer. Repeat the directions from Step 3 to change the color. You want this ring to be empty inside, so click on the Transparent Button on the Background Materials Box (white square in Figure 2). Now click on the Preset Shape icon and set the Tool Options palette to the following values. Preset Shape: Ellipse Retain style: No Anti-alias: Checked Create as vector: Checked Line style: Solid Width: 70 Click and drag to draw a green oval. Because you have set the oval to be a vector shape, you can now move and reshape the oval. Use the corner and edge handles (small boxes) to position the green ring along the edge of the cut out oval on the card. (see Figure 4)
