Tattoo artist J.D. Crowe has produced a rather lengthy series of tattoo design books. Here's just a sampling of what is available to either meet your design needs, or inspire you towards that perfect design. Each book is spiral-bound, 20 pages of black and white line designs. If you've ever wondered what tattooists meant by the term "flash" was, this is it. Sheets of designs were tacked, taped or framed and hung on the walls of the shop. Customers could ask for a design straight off the wall, or request something custom. "Scratchers" or beginning tattooists are known for only taking requests "straight off the wall" which means they only will copy something already drawn up there.
