'Tis the Season for You
Around this time of year, we get caught up with more than we can handle. Most belly dancers deal with a full time job and family. We have to make time to belly dance. With all of this, it is a wonder how we manage to deal with the extra holiday activities.

A Dancer's Thanksgiving
The traditional question that seems to make its way once a year, is answered in hundreds of ways. Everyone answers with family and friends. Dancers are no different, but about the art of dance, yes, we are thankful.

A Glimpse of the Belly Dancer, Mata Hari
Mata Hari was known as the exotic dancer, who was later executed for being a spy, but little is known of her contribution to dance.

A Memorable Workshop with Sandra
Houston, Texas was home to a workshop conducted by professional belly dancer, Sandra. It was nice to spend the weekend with such a talented belly dancer.

A Moment of Reflection on 2007
Before we start the new year, it is only appropriate to reflect on your accomplishments for the year. For some, 2007 was the year in which belly dance was introduced into a woman´s life, others continued to grow in the dance, and professional belly dancers continued to shine.

A Psychedelic Belly Dance and Drummer Session
It was a totally cool experience, on a warm, Houston, Texas night. Co-Founder and Director Ken "Tulo" Knezick of Gypsy Dance Theatre, coordinated a live drum session, with black lights, strobes, and smoke machines to make the mood groovy. I am so looking forward to the next one.

A Surprise for my Mother
It was a late Mother's Day gift, but the expression on her face made the wait worth it. On May 20, 2012, I danced for my mother, who was part of an audience at recent show.

Alay'nya's Unveiling: The Inner Journey
This is a must read for all women. Most of what is written, relates to oriental dance and the lives of dancers, instructors, and those who dream of becoming a dancer. A woman's journey is of importance and Unveiling: The Inner Journey is a terrific guide.

All the Parties and Costumes
Dancing, celebration, fun, can have consequences. Here are some things to remember for this Hallow's Eve celebration.

Arabesque Belly Dancing Competition
If you want a reason to visit sunny San Diego, California, well here is your chance. That is if you are a belly dancer and eager to compete or participate in a workshop. What a wonderful way to meet other dancers and to learn different techniques at the same time.
