Maple-glazed Brussels Sprouts with Bacon

Maple-glazed Brussels Sprouts with Bacon

  • 4 strips bacon
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 lb. Brussels Sprouts
  • 2 T. butter
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • salt and pepper

Preparation -
Cook bacon over until crisp. Remove from pan and drain, and crumble. Cook Brussels Sprouts until tender, then cut each one in half, and set aside. Saute onion in bacon drippings until barely tender. Add cooked Brussels Sprouts and saute just until very lightly browned. Stir in butter and and maple syrup and simmer until heated through. Add salt and pepper to taste.
