Assigning a Follow Up Tag to an

Assigning a Follow Up Tag to an email or contact is a quick and easy process. There are a couple of different way to assign the Follow Up Tag – either from the Ribbon (menu) or the context menu (right-clicking on item). Listed below are the instructions assigning the Follow Up Tag using both methods.

 

To Assign Follow Up Tag Using Context Menu: 

  1. Highlight the item that requires follow-up (email or contact)

  2. Right-click on item to bring up context menu

  3. Scroll down to Follow Up

  4. Select desired due date to assign to item or create a custom date

To Assign Follow Up Tag to Item in Inbox: 

  1. Highlight the email that requires a follow-up

  2. Click on the Home tab in the ribbon

  3. Click on Follow Up

  4. Select desired due date to assign to item or create a custom date

 To Assign Follow Up Tag to Open Email Message: 

  1. Click on the Message tab in the ribbon

  2. Click on Follow Up

  3. Select desired due date to assign to item or create a custom date

 To Assign Follow Up Tag to Contact in Contact List: 

  1. Highlight the contact that requires a follow-up

  2. Click on the Home tab in the ribbon

  3. Click on Follow Up

  4. Select desired due date to assign to item or create a custom date

 To Assign Follow Up Tag to Open Contact: 

  1. Click on the Contact tab in the ribbon

  2. Click on Follow Up

  3. Select desired due date to assign to item or create a custom date

 There are two methods for removing a Follow Up Flag from an item – mark the task as completed or remove the flag. The first method is used indicate that the Follow Up action has been completed so the task can be marked as such. The second method is to remove the task with marking it as complete – this is useful if an item was accidently flagged as a Follow Up item but does not require follow up.

 

To Mark Follow Up Item Complete: 

  1. Highlight item – email or contact

  2. Select Follow Up from Ribbon

  3. Click on Mark Complete

 To Clear Flag on Item: 

  1. Highlight item – email or contact

  2. Select Follow Up from Ribbon

  3. Click on Clear Flag
