Master The Art Of Feeling Good
Guest Author - Katie Byrd

What Kind of Journey Are You On?

When my two year old granddaughter walks into a room she often announces in a booming, exuberant, joyful voice, “Here I am!” Just like she is the center of the universe.

If you watch happy little children, you’ll realize that we all must have come here with extraordinary exuberant enthusiasm for our life’s journey. We were excited, looking forward to what lies ahead and we each believed we could and should have an extraordinary life experience. This attitude is something you rarely see in grownups.

Somewhere along the way, we learn to believe that if we take the right actions and work hard enough, maybe (just maybe) in the end we’ll get back a little taste of that joy we started out with.

Although action is very important (it’s how we play the game of “life”), if you’re smart, you’ll reach for the joy first. No matter how hard you try to control circumstances through your actions, for the most part, you can’t. Trying to control uncontrollable situations and people only leads to frustration.

What can you control? You can control your feelings. That doesn’t mean pasting a happy face over rotten circumstances. It’s about consistently tweaking and uplifting your feelings – to move them upwards on your vibrational feeling meter.

Focus first on feeling good, as opposed to thinking you’re going to reach a joyful state as a result of your actions (by getting a better job, a bigger house, a sexier spouse). The joyful feeling journey is the path you started out on. And it’s the best way to go now.

Once you take charge of your feelings and reach the point where joy, appreciation and even ecstasy are present most of the time, doors will open for you, your circumstances will change for the better and the world will begin to cater to you in ways you can’t even begin to imagine. These will come as natural by-products of learning how to master the art of feeling good.
