With all of the controversy surrounding the comments made by House on the TV show with the same name, I got to thinking about the relationships that we with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome have with our doctors (and other medical professionals).

It's not all good, nor all bad. Many of us have heard some horrible things from so-called medical "professionals". Some of us still hear, "I don't know" and the implication can sometimes seem like they don't want to find out either. Some of us feel bitter, at times, about the situation. My goal is to try and find some positivity where I can. It's hard, but I try. (I'm also new at this - so bear with me.)

We know we have a responsibility in our own health care. We know that our doctors have a responsibility to help us. However, some of us can feel like it's war sometimes. I say let's not draw battle lines. BUT and this is a big BUT...why not share recommendations to good health care practitioners and even better ones?

As consumers, we only buy quality food, good cars, great clothes and so much more.

Would you allow a butcher to hack off your hair?

Would you trust your child to a so-so day care provider or babysitter?

Heck no! You wouldn't nor should you, either.

So, why trust the care of your body, your health and your life to someone less than the best...or at least pretty darn good?
