A wedding at St. Lukes Church turned into a daytime tragedy on Friday when EJ Wells was shot several times in the back just as he was attempting to kiss his bride.

As it currently stands, there have been several potential suspects identified since the death of John Black. At the Brady Pub, Marlena confessed to Hope that she has fantasies about how she will kill EJ. Even though she knows clinically, her feelings are a normal part of the grieving process, she still questions her apparent fixation on the deed.

Marlena's ex-husband, Roman finds out that Sami is, in fact, going to go ahead and marry EJ and tells Bo that he will kill EJ. Bo tells Roman to turn over his gun to him. Roman happily gives it to him and a moment later, we see him with one packed in his sock.

Lucas, Sami's ex-husband, has been secretly keeping a 9mm Glock in his chest of drawers. He admits to Billie that he was at the church and he saw EJ being shot and only stayed long enough to be certain that Sami was safe.

Prior to the wedding, Lucas tells his mother, Kate Roberts, that she can repair their broken relationship by stopping the wedding. We next see Kate frantically pleading with Philip to get rid of the gun and not to ask her any questions. It is highly unlikely that she would shoot Stefano since he is her personal benefactor and she knows her place in the family. However, it is within her M.O. to have stopped that marriage by aiming for Sami.

Of course, we always have to wonder when the half-cocked Steve will fall off his bar stool. We are at a point with his character of not totally being certain of his true intentions.

Another possibility is the Mystery Woman dressed in black who shows up at the church and sits in the back pew. Her presence leads us to wonder who she is and why was she randomly at the church. Could she be Colleen or perhaps Colleen's daughter?

Perhaps Shawn Sr. is a viable candidate as the shooter. Although we have not heard about nor seen him since Andre's death, it remains a likelihood albeit, remote, that he would try to end the vendetta that he helped begin so many years ago.

We also need to address Tony's whereabouts as of late. He would definitely have more than enough reason to shoot EJ, or even Stefano. Perhaps he wants to end the vendetta and ensure he takes his rightful place in the family.

It is too early at this point to discern with any type of accuracy of "whodunnit." No matter the outcome, Days of Our Lives fans are in for an excellent adventure.
