Valentine's Day in Japan
Guest Author - Taisha Turner

On Valentine's Day, February 14, in Japan the women give the gifts. Chocolate is the gift of choice. They are given to the significant men in their lives. Fathers, brothers, co-workers and friends are the recipients.

The holiday has grown over the past twenty years. The chocolate makers promoted the day in Japan. Now it is a day filled with chocolate goodies.

Japanese women make chocolates for the men whom they have great affection. Ties and other mementos accompany the chocolates.

Store-bought candy is usually the kind given to co-workers and bosses. This gift giving can become expensive, but it is tradition.

However you celebrate Valentine's Day, enjoy yourself. A tip to pet owners, chocolate is detrimental to your pet’s health. Happy Valentine's Day Dear Readers!

Do you want to try making chocolate candy? A link is provided to a very easy recipe.

Give the special person in your life a token of affection. Give a Ghirardelli Assortment of Chocolates.
