Faggoting & Tatting on Collar

This is last part of the pattern which began last June 27, 2019.

The term faggoting is used for an embroidery stitch which joins across an open space between pieces of fabric, lace edging, insertions, entredeux and braids. It may be plain cross stitch in appearance or fancy.

This collar by Norma Benporath will require planning and concentration. It is a vintage public domain pattern.

Edging.
You will recall that after the previous row, there is no more binding braid used. Instead the edging row will be joined to t he next to lst one by faggoting directly. So you may tat the edging separately.

The "flower" has 6 rings and 6 chains. The rings appear to be tightly joined so be sure to make those joining picots a bit smaller than the others. There is a connecting chain and ring between flowers.

Finish rings as before as needed and then pin down to the paper pattern. Connect this to the previous lace with faggoting.

Finish off collar with a bit of edging on the ends using the same ring and chain style.

Good luck on this one!
