3-Ingredient Chili Dog Bake

3-Ingredient Chili Dog Bake
Chili dogs are popular almost everywhere, and there is always controversy over whether the chili used should contain beans. This easy and quick-to-put-together 3 Ingredient Chili Dog Bake is versatile, and gives the cook the option of using a favorite variety of chili. If you’re from Texas, you’ll want to use chili without beans; if you prefer spicy, you’ll want to use hot chili; if you have leftover chili from another meal, you can also use homemade chili. Whatever your preferences, this one is an easy winner for everyone.

This quick casserole makes it easy to serve a crowd (just use a can of chili for each four hot dogs) or for small families using only 4 hot dogs and 1 can of chili. The original recipe, which was published online, called for wrapping each hot dog in a flour tortilla; unfortunately, that resulted in a disgusting, soggy mess rather than a substitution for buns. Buns are readily available at the grocery store and the chili dogs are much better on the buns. Some prefer this without buns, however, and that is just fine. 3 ingredients never tasted so good.

8 Servings

2 14 oz. cans chili con carne with beans, or, if you prefer without beans

  4. Place the hotdogs on the chili in the casserole dish; spread the remaining can chili on top.
  5. Cover with the cheese.
  6. Bake about 40 minutes or until bubbly and the cheese is melted.
