Golden Nugget Meatballs

Golden Nugget Meatballs

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup minced onion
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 12 - 1/2 " cubes mild cheddar cheese
  • T. olive oil
  • 1 can condensed Tomato Soup
  • 1/3 to 1/2 cup water
  • 1 medium clove garlic, minced
  • 1/8 tsp. oregano

Preparation -
Combine ground beef, bread crumbs , minced onion and salt. Divide in 12. Shape meat mixture firmly aroound each cheese cube to form 12 meatballs. Heat oil in skillet, brwon meatballs. Drain fat. Combine remaining ingredients in a bowl. Pour mixture meatballs in skillet . Cover, then cook on low heat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve with pasta or noodles or on rolls for meatball sandwiches.
