Recently someone asked me which Try Its were good for first-year Brownies, and, really, some of the Try Its don’t work well with six year olds. These seem to be age-appropriate. The first two are good ones to reinforce what Scouting is all about and the rest are really good “foundation” try its.
* Girl Scout Ways
* Her Story
* Safety Sense
* Friends are Fun
* Healthy Habits
* Animals
* Caring and Sharing
* Manners
* Senses
None of these require the girls be able to read and write or possess other skills that they will only only acquire at age 7 or 8.
Don't feel you have to do all the Try Its over the course of three years. Do what interests the girls. Girls like to get patches, though, so don't forget to check with your local council for patches if you do other kinds of activities.
