Songs for Tsunami Relief - Austin to South Asia
Guest Author - Taisha Turner

Songs for Tsunami Relief - Austin to South Asia (Texas Roadhouse) consist of songs from the January 9 benefit concert in Austin, Texas. Willie Nelson was the headliner. Seven of the eighteen songs feature Nelson. Some of his standards such as “Mamas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys,” “Whiskey River,” and “Blue Eyes Crying in The Rain” are on the compact disc. He adds his distinctive style to the tunes.

The contributions from the other singers are great. The artists Patty Griffin, Joe Ely, Spoon, Alejandro Escovedo and the Dixie Chick’s Natalie Maines donated unselfishly their talent and time for such a good cause as the Tsunami Relief.

The proceeds from the sale of the recording are donations to UNICEF and CARE tsunami relief and rebuilding in Southeast Asia. Go ahead and listen to the artists knowing the funds are going to a great cause.
