Published by Good Books
What could be easier than cooking in a slow cooker? Nothing! That's what this cookbook is all about. It's packed with delicious recipes that everyone will love. For Diabetics there are exchange list values with each recipe and basic nutritional values as well. Anyone that is keeping track of calories, carbs, exchanges and more will find all the information they need!
They don't leave out the flavor or variety either. You'd think that cooking in a slow cooker couldn't be so versatile but it is. You'll find recipes such as Cheese Souffle Casserole, Turkey Breast with Orange Sauce, Stroganoff, Swedish Meatballs, French Market Soup, Pizza Fondue, Fruity Wassail, Cheery Cherry Bread and so many more! The Baked Corn and Noodles recipe is wonderful.. I didn't have the cheese they suggested but I substituted Edam cheese and it was great! You'll have to dig into this one to appreciate the vast selection of well over 500 recipes.
The book is a softcover colorful book and the author is a New York Times Bestselling author so you know it's quality.. What's more is that Phyllis Pellman Good together with the American Diabetes Association have made sure that the information in this cookbook is complete so you can prepare good nutritious meals and know what's in them. It is not limited to recipes only though. They include tips and information on cooking as well as diabetes.

I love the week of menus section!! Each meal or snack includes all the exchanges and nutritional values and they total each days menu with the information as well. Now that's planning! They also offer at the back of the book the link and 1-800 number to check out the library of The American Diabetes Association so that is a great resource as well.
Not only will you find this wonderful cookbook but you will also find other great books on various topics from this company including: Whole Grains Baking, Teachers Guides, Quilting Books, Marriage, Gardening, Ethnic, Art and Religious books as well as many other topics. It's a treasure trove of books that I could get lost in! There are 87 titles relating to cooking alone on their site at this time.. See what I mean? A treasure trove!
This is a wonderful cookbook for anyone who likes to fix it and forget it.. Your food will be ready and waiting for you when you cook in a slow cooker. I'm going to have to get the rest of the Fix-It and Forget-It Series of cookbooks for my home and you might want to check into them as well. What wonderful gifts these would make! I love convenience cooking especially when I'm busy.
