Dipping Sauce Recipes

For a red, white and blue holiday, try Hot & Spicy's zippey White Dipping Sauce for raw or blanched vegetables and the Simple Red Dipping Sauce (serve hot or cold) for grilled meats. The red sauce was created out of need for a good dipping sauce when I used to go out with friends after work. The sauce served at my favorite stop had an odd off taste so I asked them to add some hot sauce to marinara spaghetti sauce. I understand it is still served. Use our Blueberry Vinegar to sprinkle over your green salad.

Ingredients White Dipping Sauce

1/4 cup nonfat mayonnaise
3/4 sour cream
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 teaspoons horseradish
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Blend all ingredients, chill and serve.

Ingredients for Simple Red Dipping Sauce

8 oz. prepared marinara sauce
1-1/2 to 2 oz. Franks Hot Pepper Sauce

Blend ingredients. Serve room temperature or serve warm. Serve with grilled meats or fried chicken cutlets. Also good served warm with small blocks of cheddar cheese or toasted bread strips.

This slightly sweet Blueberry Vinegar is great over spicy greens such as endive or radicchio.

Hint
*Prick mini hotdogs and heat to low boiling in the red dipping sauce. Remove from heat and keep warm over small Sterno stove or double recipe and put into crock pot--set at medium to keep hotdogs warm.
