Cheap Eats in Japan - Kaitenzushi
Guest Author - Taisha Turner

Kaitenzushi is an inexpensive way to eat sushi while traveling in Japan. Sushi in a traditional restaurant is very expensive. A Kaitenzushi cuts prices by serving patrons dishes on a conveyor belt.

Enter the restaurant and seat yourself. Study the price list on the wall. The type of sushi determines the cost. The plate's color or pattern indicates the sushi's ingredients. Now aware of the offerings and its prices, take your choices off the revolving conveyor belt. If you do not see what you want, place an order with the chef.

Do not place the plates back on the conveyor belt. At the end of the meal, a waiter/waitress will count the dishes and multiply by price for the total cost. For example, if you had three dishes at Y100 and two at Y200, the total cost is Y700.

Try eating in a Kaitenzushi while in Japan. Go in and enjoy the traditional Japanese cuisine.

Use the link to make Spicy Tuna Sushi Roll at home. Try this recipe. Sushi is great to eat on warm summer nights.
