I never would have guessed in a million years that Jessica Simpson would put her name on plus size jeans. But here you have it. Plus size clothing retailer Avenue has 8 styles ranging in cowboy, boot cut and stretch styles exclusively for plus size women. The sizes range from 16 - 26 and cost $54 - $59. Ms. Simpson is said to laid more than her brand on these denims.
I personally wouldn't buy a pair of jeans just because Jessica endorsed them. What does she know about being fat after all? I think this has more to do with the extreme marketing involved with her movie, The Dukes of Hazzard, hence the cowboy style. She has good business sense and let's face it the plus size clothing market is going to mean bigger business as more and more women say they are not going to take it anymore. With Jessica out of the equation they are a cute jean and nothing is more comfortable than stretch fabric. I especially like the cut of the Stretch Cowboy Jean with the three little seams at the hips.
A reader emailed recently to let me know how great Jessica Simpson's jeans are for those without the traditional full butt. As part of the "in-between group" who has the wide hips but not the fuller behind she says, Jessica Simpson jeans "are the only ones that don't leave us baggy assed."

Update: I guess it didn't take. They are no longer available at Avenue or Fashion Bug but I did see some on Ebay.
