I love bookmarks. Especially ones made by other people -- they make great gifts and can be designed with a personal or a favorite image. Bookmarks can be made from ribbon, leather, paper or a multitude of other things. In desperation I have even used a folded up square of toilet paper. I know scary, right?
These days bookmarks have another use besides marking where you left off in your most recent novel. Bookmarks can contain messages. Some can advertise the bookstore you picked it up in, some can have an inspirational quote or aspiration from an author and some just contain beautiful images. I had a friend frame three image bookmarks she picked up on a trip to Rome -- a perfect example that they are not just place holders in books.
Here is my take on the Large and Lovely bookmark for BellaOnline. These two, hopefully inspirational, bookmarks are easy to print, cut out and laminate. You can even add your own designs with stamps or doodles before you laminate them.

You can find laminate sheets for a few dollars that allow you to laminate without a machine/press at pretty much any craft store. The last package I bought was about $5 and contained a few sheets.
Happy bookmarking!
