Do you have a web site? Do you post items for sale on popular web auction sites? If you do, chances are you've used a traffic counter to help keep track of your visitors.
I admit I use counters on my web sites, small, unobtrusive counters that give me an at-a-glance update as to the effectiveness of my marketing, without going into my web site stats area. Although frequently associated with novice web design and/or vanity, counters are actually a very useful tool when used the proper way. Personally, I lead visitors through my sites from page to page with the intent of getting them to just the right page, one where I'm going to make the sale. By using small counters, I can tell at a glance whether my marketing is on-target, or way off the mark. I can also tell at a glance where I lost them, and where I need to focus my attention.
Most counter on the web have a few things in common. On the plus side, they're accurate and reasonably simple to install. On the negative, they generally contain some form of adware and require your email address to sign up for the service. I try diligently to keep my email address off as many list as possible. I also balk at adding a counter to my site that is going to display links to third party sites that I have no association with.. Also, I don't want to try to remember 'another' user name and password simply to access my traffic counter.
I hate jumping through hoops just to have a small counter on my site.Shouldn't a simple counter be simpler?
Thanks to Acme-web-design.info, it is...
I now have a counter that offers all the positives, and none of the negatives. Web-Traffic-Counter is a quick, non-permanent counter that can be easily installed on any web page, including auction sites. Users are not asked for any personal information, there are no forms to fill, TOS, or
site limitations.
Once downloaded to your desktop, this small utility only requires that you pick a style, then copy and paste a bit of code onto your web page. Nothing is actually 'installed' on your web site. Additionally, Web-Traffic-Counters only link back to their home page and not third party sites. Want to kill your page rank in a hurry? Install a counter that, unbeknown to you, periodically links back to a gambling site - or worse.
Each counter is totally independent of other counters. You can add counters to several different pages, as long as you generate a different counter for each. If you want to reset a counter, you simply generate another counter and paste it on the page, removing the old counter of course.
These counters are a good example of freeware in it's pure form - they provide a nice little product at no cost to the user. Their reward is when your visitors click on the attractive counters and Acme-web-designs homepage opens in a new window.
I use them.. and I'm confident you will to if you click their link HERE..
