Sudsy News - New Editor
Guest Author - Cheryl Lewis

The soapmaking edititor is Winsome Tapper who has been making soap for the last five years. She makes cold process, hot process, melt and pour and rebatched soaps. She believes that becoming an editor at Bellaonline gives her the chance to share her expertise on one of her favorite topics. A self-taught artist and writer, Winsome is at home with many different creative media. She has worn many hats professionally, having worked as a network analyst, a fraud investigator, and a chef. Winsome will be pursuing a graduate degree in Speech Language Pathology.

Her interest in soap making was an obvious extension of her love for herbs and floral crafts. She gathered this experience and love from a childhood spent in the rural countryside on the island of Jamaica. It was in the shade of the Blue Mountains, where vegetation would pop up overnight, so fertile was the soil, in a parish that had one of the heaviest rainfall on the island, that a love for all manner of trees, bushes, herbs, flowers, rocks and anything natural took hold. Because of this, Winsome has a strong commitment to eco-friendly manufacturing practices and to use ingredients as natural based as possible. To her it is imperative to leave as little footprint as possible on the earth, for future generations.

Her love of soap making naturally turned into a business, when everyone wanted to buy the products she made. Winsome is tireless in her efforts to source out eco-friendly and fair trade ingredients for body care and soap manufacturing. She has amassed a huge inventory of information and sources that would be of help to those making soap and body care products as a hobby and as a business. She would love to share her expertise and knowledge. The best way to get in touch with her is through the contact form on the website.
